Find the faultbefore it finds you.
Heat signatures reveal failing solar cells, loose connections, water ingress and overheating plant long before anything visible goes wrong. Ordered in minutes, flown by qualified pilots, anywhere in Australia.
Portfolio pricing in one pass
No lock-in, ever
Most asset failures announce themselves as heat first.
A loose connection warms up months before it arcs. A cracked solar cell runs hot long before output drops enough to notice on a bill. Water in a roof shows as a cool patch at dusk while the ceiling below still looks perfect.
A visual inspection finds problems that have already happened. A thermal inspection finds problems that are about to. That difference is the entire business case, and it is why this sits at the centre of most serious preventative maintenance programs.
Solar
Hotspots, cracked cells, failed bypass diodes, string and inverter faults.
Electrical
Loose or corroded connections, overloaded conductors, failing switchgear and joints.
Building envelope
Water ingress, missing or wet insulation, air leakage and membrane failure.
Mechanical plant
Overheating motors, bearings and pumps, and blocked or failing heat exchangers.
Four jobs that pay for themselves quickly.
Solar farms and commercial arrays
A single scan across an array identifies every underperforming module by position, so maintenance goes straight to the panel rather than walking rows with a handheld meter. On a large array this is the difference between a morning and a fortnight.
Powerlines and distribution assets
Connection and joint faults appear as clear thermal anomalies well before failure. Flying the corridor removes the need to isolate, climb or put a crew in a bucket to inspect something that turns out to be fine.
Telecommunications towers
Equipment temperature, power and connection faults at height, captured without a rigger and without taking the site down. Pairs naturally with a visual condition inspection on the same flight.
Roofs and building portfolios
Trapped moisture shows as thermal difference as the roof cools, mapping the wet area rather than the leak point below it. Useful for scoping remediation properly instead of replacing an entire roof on suspicion.
Findings you can act on, not a folder of orange pictures.
Raw thermal imagery is close to useless to a maintenance planner. What they need is a location, a severity and a recommendation. That is what we set out to deliver.
- Radiometric thermal imagery with temperature data retained per pixel, not just a colour picture.
- Matched visual imagery so every anomaly can be seen in normal light alongside its heat signature.
- Georeferenced anomaly locations, so a crew can find the exact panel, span or unit without hunting.
- Thermal orthomosaic across the site where the job suits it, for a single view of the whole asset.
- Findings summary with anomalies classified by severity and a plain-English recommendation.
- Delivered to your platform, or kept in the Aerologix portal. Your call, no subscription either way.
Thermal is the one product where timing changes the answer.
You can fly a visual inspection almost any time. Thermal is different. Capture at the wrong hour, in the wrong conditions, and the data will look fine and tell you nothing. We schedule around this rather than around convenience.
Solar wants load and sun
Arrays need to be generating under decent irradiance for faults to show. A cloudy morning scan produces a clean-looking array with its problems invisible.
Roofs want the cool-down
Moisture detection works on differential as the structure sheds heat, so these are usually flown around dusk rather than midday.
Electrical wants real load
A connection fault on an idle circuit looks identical to a healthy one. Assets need to be working for the heat to appear.
If your site needs a specific window, tell us at the point of ordering. It is a scheduling constraint, not a price increase, and it is the difference between a useful inspection and an expensive one.

| Job | What it covers | From |
|---|---|---|
| Single asset | One roof, one tower, one substation, one commercial array. | $850 |
| Site scan | Multiple assets across a single location, captured in one visit. | $1,400 |
| Solar farm | Utility-scale array with per-module fault identification. | Quoted |
| Corridor or portfolio | Powerline runs or many sites. CSV upload prices the whole lot in one pass. | Quoted |
Add a visual inspection to the same flight and you pay for one mobilisation rather than two. Remote sites may carry travel time, shown separately. No subscription, no minimum spend.
Built for assets that check before they let anyone on.
Thermal work concentrates in exactly the sectors with the strictest site access requirements: utilities, energy, rail and telecommunications. Every pilot is verified for CASA licensing, currency and insurance before they can accept work, and we hold additional qualifications against pilot records so we can filter on them.
CASA licensed
RePL and ARN verified, operating under a valid ReOC.
Insured
Public liability confirmed before allocation to your job.
Site tickets
White card, working at heights, EWP and similar held against pilot records.
Your inductions
For ongoing programs we build a named pool who have completed your site onboarding.
For tier 1 asset owners we sign the MSA and manage pilot compliance behind it, so you hold one relationship rather than a dozen with individual operators.
The things people actually ask.
How much does a thermal drone inspection cost in Australia?
Single asset thermal inspections start from $850. A site scan covering multiple assets in one visit starts from $1,400. Solar farms, powerline corridors and multi-site portfolios are quoted, and a CSV upload will price an entire portfolio in one pass. Quotes are unlimited and free.
When is the best time of day to fly a thermal inspection?
It depends entirely on what you are looking for. Solar arrays need good irradiance and the system generating. Roof moisture surveys are usually flown around dusk as the structure cools. Electrical assets need to be under real load. Tell us the target and we will schedule the right window.
Can you inspect a whole solar farm?
Yes. Utility-scale arrays are exactly what this is built for. You get per-module fault identification with each anomaly located precisely enough for a crew to walk straight to it, rather than a general report saying the array has issues.
Do I need thermal, or will a normal inspection do?
If you are looking for physical damage, corrosion or condition, a standard inspection from $350 will do the job. Choose thermal when the fault is electrical, when you are looking for moisture, or when you want to find problems before they become visible. Ask us and we will tell you honestly which one your job needs.
Is the imagery radiometric?
Yes. Temperature data is retained per pixel, so anomalies can be measured and compared rather than eyeballed from a colour palette. That also means captures can be compared meaningfully over time.
Can you cover assets across multiple states?
That is what the network is for. Local pilots are allocated to each location, so a national portfolio does not mean paying for someone to drive between states. There is no minimum and no lock-in contract.
