- Take to the Skies – Aerologix Drone Footage Competition is open to professional and amateur drone pilots who are New Zealand Residents only.
- Any dates and times referred to will be set by New Zealand Standard Time (NZST)
- The video submitted through the Aerologix platform should be original and belong to the Pilot contributor. Any plagiarism will result in immediate disqualification from the competition.
- Entrants must be 18 or older at the time of the competition’s conclusion, the 9th of June, 2023. Personal identification verifying age when awarding prizes may be requested at the discretion of the competition organisers.
- By registering and entering the Take to the Skies – Aerologix Drone Footage Competition, you hereby accept these Terms and Conditions.
- By entering the competition, you agree and acknowledge that Aerologix is permitted to receive and review your registration data. Participants agree that personal data, including, but not limited to, name and email address may be collected, processed, stored and otherwise used to conduct and administer this footage competition. At any time, participants have the right to access, review, rectify or cancel any personal data held by Aerologix by sending an email to the following address: hello@aerologix.com
- All entries will be reviewed and pre-screened by our editors to ensure that quality standards are met as outlined in Competition terms:
- This competition is a game of skill
- The screened entries are reviewed by our independent ANZ judging panel. The judging panel will choose the winners. The decisions of the judging panel are final.
- For a clip to be accepted to the competition and to qualify for a chance the prize pool footage must meet the following:
- No music or editing
- Quality: 1080p minimum (4k, 8k preferred)
- Orientation: landscape (16:9)
- File type: H.264 .MP4 or .MOV
- Duration: Between 10 seconds and 2 minutes
- Lighting: Correctly exposed to light so it is not underexposed or overexposed.
- Framing and Composition: Subject/landscape needs to be completely in frame
- Legality: Make sure any drone regulations and licencing are adhered to.
- Submission title: All words capitalised (For e.g. Drone Views Of Bondi Beach)
- Location details needed to include :
- LOCATION, COUNTRY – MONTH X: Aerial views of Location on Date X, Year in location, State, Country
- Example: AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND – OCTOBER 9: Aerial views of Auckland on a bright sunny day on October 9, 2022 in Auckland, New Zealand
- The full name of each entrant whose work is selected as a winner will also be published online and on Aerologix social media channels.
- Aerologix reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify and remove any footage that does not comply with the following requirements, even after the footage appears on the website. You warrant, in respect of the footage submitted by you, as follows:
- You are the sole copyright owner and creator of the drone footage.
- You have the right to enter your drone footage in this competition.
- The drone footage does not infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, contract rights, or any other intellectual property rights of any third person or entity, or violate any person’s rights of privacy or publicity
- Drone footage is submitted according to the laws, regulations and licencing requirements of the pilot’s home country being met
- You confirm that any and each person depicted in any drone footage has granted permission to be portrayed as shown – and has the right to grant that permission.
- It is understood that by submitting to the Take To The Skies – Aerologix Drone Footage Competition, your footage will be submitted to Getty Images, which Getty Images licences the uploaded footage, and you receive recurring royalties via Aerologix when purchases are made. You maintain the copyright to all content submitted.
- The prize pool consists of a major prize of NZD$2,500 and a minor prize of NZD $1,500 selected by the judging panel. The third prize of NZD $1,000 will be the People’s Choice Award and will be awarded via a public voting system on Aerologix’s Instagram page.
- The major and minor prize winners will not be eligible to win any subsequent prizes.
- Winners are solely responsible for paying any taxes or fees levied on the prizes and will be officially notified via email. If the winner cannot accept the prize, this will go to the next deemed second place.
- Grand winners will be announced at the official competition event in Auckland on Thursday, 25th May and subsequently announced on Aerologix’s social media pages. Winners will also be contacted via email to notify them of the prize. If any monies remain unclaimed after thirty (30) business days, this will be donated to a chosen charity.
- All entrants agree that all drone footage submitted to the competition may be reproduced (with drone pilot copyright credit) and used to conduct and promote Aerologix business activities. You hereby grant Aerologix the right to use submitted drone footage in such promotional activities.
- By submitting to the Take to the Skies NZ Drone Footage Competition, your footage will be submitted to Getty Images, in which Getty Images licences the uploaded footage, and you receive recurring royalties via Aerologix when purchases are made. You maintain the copyright to all content submitted.
- You acknowledge that Aerologix and its event partners assume no responsibility and are not liable for any drone footage misuse.
- Aerologix employees, suppliers, contractors and their immediate families are ineligible to enter this competition.
